Al via 12 Selezioni Nazionali, 16 Rappresentative Regionali e la Rappresentativa della Lunigiana
Casano, 3 agosto 2022 – Disegnati i percorsi, sono state definite le squadre partecipanti al 46°GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA in programma da giovedì 1 a domenica 4 settembre 2022.
Le regioni italiane saranno presenti con 16 rappresentative e la società organizzatrice CASANO allestirà con i suoi atleti la Rappresentativa Lunigiana.
Per quanto riguarda le nazionali straniere è confermata la partecipazione della Nazionale Francese
vincitrice dell’ultima edizione della gara con Lenny MARTINEZ, il forte scalatore transalpino che quest’anno nella categoria superiore degli under 23 è salito sul terzo gradino del podio al GIRO D’ITALIA GIOVANI e ha trionfato nel prestigioso GIRO DELLA VALLE D’AOSTA.
Il Responsabile Tecnico Francese Julien THOLLET si presenta con i suoi migliori atleti al prossimo 46°GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA con due obiettivi ben precisi ovvero ripetere il successo dello scorso anno nella più prestigiosa gara a tappe della categoria juniores e completare la preparazione della squadra che parteciperà al Campionato del Mondo a Wollongong in Australia il 23 settembre.
Ma a rendere ardua l’impresa ha confermato la sua presenza al 46°GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA la Nazionale Norvegese che con Johannes KULSET, vincitore della Classifica Giovani nel 2021, scenderà sulle nostre strade per puntare alla conquista della Maglia Verde della Classifica Generale.
Abbiamo avuto una richiesta di partecipazione da parte delle Nazionali Straniere molto numerosa ma solo 12 hanno potuto ricevere l’invito a partecipare alla gara in quanto per motivi di sicurezza in gara il regolamento UCI prescrive che possono essere schierati al via un massimo di 176 corridori.
Dopo Francia e Norvegia già da tempo era definita la partecipazione al 46°GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA delle nazionali di Germania, Belgio, Ucraina, Slovacchia, Slovenia, Polonia, Repubblica Ceca, Serbia e proprio in questi giorni hanno completato l’elenco delle 12 nazionali straniere partecipanti le prestigiose rappresentative della Colombia e del Portogallo.
Non ci sarà la Nazionale Italiana in quanto il CT Dino Salvoldi ha preferito che i migliori atleti gareggino con la maglia delle rispettive Rappresentative Regionali e questa scelta sicuramente rende la gara ancora più avvincente sotto l’aspetto competitivo.
Appuntamento quindi per mercoledì 31 agosto alle ore 18.30 sul lungomare di Lerici per la sfilata di presentazione delle 29 squadre che giovedì 1 settembre si presenteranno a Portofino alla partenza del 46°GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA che ha l’onore di avere fato “approdare” per la prima volta una gara ciclistica nella Perla del Tigullio.

THE TEAMS OF THE 46TH GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA
12 National Teams, 16 Regional Teams and the Lunigiana Team
Casano, 3 August 2022 – The teams participating in the 46th GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA scheduled from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 September 2022 have been defined.
The Italian regions will be present with 16 representatives and the organizing company CASANO will set up the Lunigiana Representative with its athletes.
The participation of the French national team is confirmed, as France won of the last edition of the race with Lenny MARTINEZ, the strong climber who this year in the upper category of the Under 23 climbed on the third step of the podium at the GIRO D’ITALIA GIOVANI and triumphed in the prestigious GIRO DELLA VALLE D’AOSTA.
The French Head Coach Julien THOLLET presents himself with his best athletes at the next 46th GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA with two very specific objectives: to repeat the success of last year in the most prestigious stage race in the junior category and complete the preparation of the team that will participate in the World Championship in Wollongong (Australia) on 23 September.
The Norwegian National team confirmed its presence at the 46th GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA with Johannes KULSET, winner of the Youth Classification in 2021, that will aim for the Maglia Verde of the General Classification.
We had a very large request to participate from the National teams but only 12 were able to receive the invitation as for safety reasons in the race the UCI regulations prescribe that a maximum of 176 riders can be lined up at the start.
After France and Norway, the National Teams confirmed in the 46th GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA are Germany, Belgium, Ukraine, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia, Colombia and Portugal.
There will be no Italian National Team as the coach Dino Salvoldi preferred that the best athletes compete with the shirt of their respective Regional Representatives and this choice certainly makes the race even more exciting from a competitive point of view.
The appointment is therefore for Wednesday 31 August at 6.30 pm on the Lerici seaside for the presentation parade of the 29 teams that on Thursday 1 September will be in Portofino at the start of the 46th GIRO DELLA LUNIGIANA which has the honor of having “landed” for the first time a cycling race in the Pearl of Tigullio.
