The Ligurian wins in Terre di Luni but has to surrender to the transalpine who gave France its third success in four years after Martinez (2021) and Bisiaux (2023). Sumpik completes the final podium

It had to be a duel and it was it until the very last metre of the 48th Giro della Lunigiana between Lorenzo Finn and Paul Seixas, who battled it out along the entire route of The Race Of The Future Champions, which had its final act in the Fivizzano-Terre di Luni. It was the French rider who came out on top, with Benoit Malaval’s selection winning the Maglia Verde for the third time in the last four years. To Finn, distanced by 6″ and runner-up for the second year in a row, the victory in the final stage, to which we can add a particular record. His 7’38” is the new Montemarcello climb record, 16″ faster than the time set by Remco Evenepoel in 2018. Third on the day was Felix Orn Kristoff, who finished ahead of Pavel Sumpik. The Czech rider took the general classification podium, 2’02’ behind Seixas, a distance that highlights even more the gap between the first two riders and their rivals.
