First Italian victory at the Giro della Lunigiana with Cristian Remelli, who won in Bolano thanks to an action launched a few kilometres before the start of the final climb. Remelli, who was together with Garbi, managed to resist the return of the big names of the general classification, who finished at 8″ with the Maglia Verde Seixas who increased his advantage in the classification over Lorenzo Finn. In the morning’s half-stage, it was Belgium’s Aldo Taillieu who came out on top, dominating the bunch sprint ahead of Umbrian Cornacchini and Frenchman Sparfel.

PRESS CONFERENCE
Speaking in the press conference, 3A stage winner Aldo Taillieu said: “It was a very chaotic sprint, but I was calm, I didn’t anticipate and I started at the right time. To win in this race is something excellent. I want to thank my team mates who worked for me all day, this victory belongs to them”.
3B stage winner Cristian Remelli said: “It is a great day. I gave everything and I’m so happy. We went flat out from the start, and I took advantage of a moment of calm to get ahead of the GC riders and take the climb with a few seconds. From there it was like a time trial. On Wednesday I didn’t feel very well and I dropped out of the classification, but this victory gives me a lot of confidence and I hope to be able to play my cards tomorrow as well”.
The Maglia Verde Paul Seixas said: “I am very happy that I kept the Maglia Verde and gained a few seconds on my rivals, especially Finn. He tried from a distance and I stuck to his wheel. I expected him to try again on the final climb but he was more on the defensive. I felt good and I attacked, although it wasn’t enough to win the stage. The team did an excellent job and I want to thank them. Tomorrow will be very tough but I have confidence”.
